Make the perfect authentic Japanese curry at home with this best-selling curry roux mix from S&B. The Golden Curry blocks or roux as they are officially called, are one of the most popular brands of curry in Japan. Golden Curry is known for its rich aroma and full-bodied flavor produced through its unique manufacturing process that incorporates various herbs and spices.

This variation is rated hot on the spiciness level. Curry roux’s ingredients consists of a mixture of flour, fats and oils, curry powder, spices, and seasonings. The blocks are then boiled in a pan with water to create a thick curry sauce. Add meat and vegetables to the sauce before serving over short-grain sticky rice.

Choose among three levels of spiciness: Mild, Medium or Hot.

Instructions

Cut meat, onions, carrot and potatoes into bite-size pieces. Sauté in saucepan until lightly browned.
Add 3-3/4 cups (750ml) of water and bring to boil. Cook over low to medium heat about 20 minutes, or until tender.
Remove from heat. Break 1/2 curry sauce bar into pieces and add to the saucepan.
Cook over low heat about 20 minutes, or until curry thickens. Serve over cooked rice, pasta, etc.
